Our Trip to The Botanic Gardens

We had an absolutely amazing trip to The Botanic Gardens. After our fun ride on the bus and eating morning tea we went into a very special classroom where we learnt about mini beasts. We learnt that mini beasts are invertebrates because they don't have spines. We also got to look at mini beasts under magnifying glasses and a microscope. There were also lots of fun games to play. Then we went on a mini beast hunt and we got to look at the wetas in their houses on tree trunks. After that we went to visit the worm farms. It rained and we had to make a quick dash to a sheltered area where some children dressed up as flowers and the rest of us were bees and we got to move the pollen from flower to flower. We had a break for lunch and in the afternoon we went to for a walk around the beautiful botanic gardens and we visited the children's garden.

 

Hockey

This week for P.E we did hockey. We learnt how to hold the hockey stick correctly. How to dribble and trap the ball.

Soccer Skills

For P.E we have been learning how to play soccer. We have been learning how to dribble and stop the ball. We loved playing the cat and mouse game and pretending to be animals and moving in different ways with the ball. We also loved trying to balance the ball on the back of our neck.
