Fire Engines

Our new topic for term four is Firewise. For art we made fire engines. We used red paper for the engine and we cut out windows and wheels using black paper. We made our ladders out of white paper and we made our hoses out of wool. We think that our fire engines look fabulous!

Beautiful Butterflies

Look at the beautiful butterflies that we have created for our calendars. First of all we listened to the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and we discussed Eric Carle's picture of his gorgeous butterfly at the end of the story. Then we looked at images of butterflies and talked about different a patterns that we saw on the butterflies wings. We drew patterns onto our own butterflies and we coloured using pastels. We then dyed over our butterflies and blended the dye to make a stunning background.

The Library Road Show

Marie and Andy came to visit us from Glenfield and Northcote Libraries. They showed us lots of exciting books! Some of the students and Miss Chan acted out one of the stories. They told us that visiting the library is fun and it is free to get yourself a library card.

Daniel went to join Northcote Library. Here is a photo of him with his new library card.

Fun at Tennis

Sophie came into our school to take us for a tennis lesson. We learnt how to hold the tennis racket properly. We had fun flipping the racket like a pancake and hitting the ball over the net.
